What is your body saying about you?

PURCHASE BODY LANGUAGE

BODY LANGUAGE

We start using body language to communicate as soon as we can walk, and we use it for everything from needs to feelings. It’s how we figure out what we need and how to get it. As we get older, we still use a variety of body language cues and the occasional grunt to communicate, entertain, meet a need, or show how we feel when we don’t know how to say it. If our caregivers are good at reading our body language when we’re young, we’re more likely to keep getting better at it as we get older.

When we stop pay attention to our body language cues as babies or as children, we stop using it as adults. People say that these are the adults who are “hard to read.” They may be great at poker, but that doesn’t help them learn how to say things in a subtle way. The saying goes, “If you don’t use it, you lose it,” or at the very least, you get rusty at it.

In some ways, life is like a game. There are no guarantees in life, but you can increase your chances by practicing not only your body language skills but also your ability to understand body language in other parts of life.
